The Bumblebee

Drinking my coffee in the early morning sunlight, a bumblebee stops by for a quick visit... just long enough to say 'thank you for no-mow May'. 😊 He merrily buzzes by, leaving a waft of gratitude in his wake. Gratitude for the wild flowers, and apple blossoms, and the dandelions left untouched.

When a bumble shows up... pay attention! You are receiving a wonderful visitation from the ancient goddess!

It's a time for community, brightness and personal power!!

Throughout history, the bee has been used as a symbol for the goddess.  In Ireland,at Balleyvourney, is St. Gobnait, who is the patron saint of Bees.  This is the 'hidden-in-plain-site' location of one of the ancient signs of the goddess - the sheila-na-gig.  (maybe I'll do a post on that one-day... if you are curious look it up!)

In Crete, the Minoans also had the symbol of the Bee for the Goddess... two bees joining together and creating a drop of honey.
